Maybe the allure of the ACC?

Maybe we'd be paying him better (no idea what he makes at Maryland). Maybe working for Whit? Maybe a combination of those and other factors?

As for Maryland, I don't think their facilities are bad... but the Big 10 is not exactly a mecca for baseball. The ACC is one of the best conferences in the land. It would probably akin to a coach leaving an ACC school for a Big 10 school in football.
