the reference intends to convey that if Buzz's name is often mentioned in public reports he can easily brush it off to a recruit as they think I am a good coach and they contacted me but, I am happy where I am at. As far as the leverage goes, people constantly knocking on a coach's door to solicit them is good motivation for the current employer to always keep current in terms of trying to keep a valued employee happy. Listening provides info as to what is available in the market and what might be useful and missing in a current position not only in terms of money but other support be it assistants/support personnel, recruiting and travel budgets, etc., etc..
