Late night in Blacksburg...

Hokie Nation...Spending a late night in my new home in Blacksburg as our carpet guys finish up installing, so I thought I would catch up with you guys on our trip to Lincoln, NE!
David Mc did not wrestle up to his standards, but the guy is consistently improving and figuring out ways to score more points. He is better then the guys he lost to and I believe we could all see a constantly attacking David McFadden is going to be dangerous! Folkstyle is a different game, and with David's tenacity, work ethic and pure love for the sport, his future is limitless. The experiences he got this spring and early summer is going to bode real well, at whatever weight this guy is at next year!
Ty also gained some invaluable experience as a "first couple month" international competitor, many guys take this first couple months off after their senior campaigns, but this guy shrinks down 35lbs and finishes 5th in a weight class the USA has brought the last 2 world and Olympic titles home in. No wonder Coach Robie knew right away that this guy would be a vital piece in continuing the upward trend of VT wrestling...I am excited to coach this guy on the international scene, and even more excited to go call him a colleague and see what he can do with our big boys!
Frank, did what Frank does, laid it on the line and gave it his all. He came up short this time, but thats definitely not the last you have seen of Coach Molinaro. This guy spent the last 6 weeks living out of a hotel, training when he could and getting coached very little. The future is so bright for this guy, and once everyone gets there heals in the dirt(families included) these FS guys are going to do big things!
I also have some feelers out to possibly get another big name guy in Blacksburg, so we will continue the FS push, which is only going to help with our recruiting, as well as push our college guys to even higher levels.
The trials as a whole was nothing short of impressive...some of the most valiant performances I personally had every seen! I have been to just about every one since the early 90s and this one was high up there. Seeing Jordan and JDen come through like the warriors they are, vindicates not only the champions they are, but the type of people we want to surround ourselves with!
Thats all I got...Robie is out on the recruiting/vacation trail(the guy is a machine!) and most the boys are back with their families until early July, then its time to ramp it back up! Onward and upward...talk soon Hokie Nation!
