who by all appearances is pathologically obsessed with hard work and improvement. He clearly is not worried about listening to offers affecting his recruiting, so why are you? As you said he is in a very competitive environment, so to thrive he can probably create compelling arguments and appeals to recruits, perhaps beyond your ability to comprehend.
