I am worried about wrestling

First of all, this has nothing to do with VT wrestling or the SERTC. I want both to be successful.

At a time when college costs are skyrocketing, and the pressure is on donors to give more to athletics and academics, the shaky economy, poor employment opportunities, and more, I am afraid that the need for dollars will outstrip donors ability and willingness to donate. Right now, us old guys do most of the giving as the younger grads do not make enough and future outlook for earning growth might be minimal.

Things are going to have to be cut in the future just to balance the books. I am afraid that wrestling will be high on the cut list. I am also afraid that with limited disposable income, the SERTC might be one of the first things stretched back on.

In addition, the rich wrestling programs like PSU, OSU, and Iowa will pour more dollars into their RTC's while the others (like the ACC teams) will struggle. I hate to be a downer, but I will call 'em as I see 'em. This could speed up wrestling's demise.
