Why was Miami given such leverage? They truly had no other options.
EVERYONE was seeing the demise of the Big East in the future. The SEC or B1G were not going to take Miami. Why were they allowed to pick their expansion mates? Weaksauce from the ACC all the way. I have zero doubt Shalala wasn't working Swofford over big time. Talk about a mismatch.
Funny thing is, powers outside the ACC saved their bacon by forcing VT upon them. And yet, a year later, they STILL went out and added BC. I remember those idiots wanting to play the ACC Baseball Tourney in Fenway and thinking folks would actually give a dang. Ha!
