Look at his profile...every FBS and FCS school is unanimously "cool" on him. If he wasn't from Blacksburg no one on this board would know who he was. You don't offer a local just because he's local. I bet all those schools who are "cool" on him want VT to offer him so they don't have to.

Beck is fast, and I hear one predominant reason to offer him is he "you can't coach speed." Can you coach soft hands? Beck does not have receiver skills. Can you coach blocking? Maybe. Beck sure needs to learn how to block to keep his QB on his feet.

Look, it makes a great headline, "local boy done good." But this local boy ain't done good enough to draw anymore interest than "cool" from anybody--literally ANYBODY, D1 or D2 (look at his profile). He's a work in progress, a project. I wish him well, I'm sure just like Coach Fuente and staff do, but I just don't see the kid getting a schollie offer as a one trick pony.
