Beck other than what I read here on the board I understand he has great speed but is marginal elsewhere. We are in kind of a transition period with this new coaching staff and we as fans haven't totally gotten a handle on it yet. Our previous staff (and don't get me wrong, I love Coach Beamer) was extremely loyal to Va guys and loved speed and athleticism. How many times did they get guys that were super athletes and super fast with the intention to develop them? Some worked out, some kind of did but not to expectations, and some never did make it. We as a fan base got to complaining about not going out and getting better position specific recruits. I think that is what our new staff is doing in casting this larger net and I have confidence in them in their evaluations and their needs. When you are recruiting a larger area you shouldn't have to take as many development projects. Beck seems to be a great kid and I hope he has success in his future at whatever school he goes to (God just don't let it be in C-ville).
