That's true for almost every commodity in life...

In a capitalistic system. People, cars, real estate, services.....on and on ad nauseum. It's just how things work. If you want your sports to be better you have to ante up until something affects the value of the commodity. I've seen a lot of this change over time but it's all relative to time. Nothing stays the same.
