English field opened.The baseball ball field back then (before English field) was where the football practice facility is today. I went to several games with my young son and the seats were a set of bleachers. Franklin Stubbs was star for a couple of years (later played for the Dodgers). You could also sit on a hill overlooking the outfield for free. $2 for tickets then would be like $6 today.
