The article definitely raised a few questions for me

which may be covered in the business plan.

1. How long can players play in the league?
2. If players are receiving a salary and benefits from the school, then wouldn't they be classified as employees of that school?
3. If the players are employees of the school, then can the school require them to get a degree since they don't require their other employees to do the same?
4. Can the league require the players to go to class/obtain a degree since it isn't paying the players directly?
5. If a player moves on to the pro leagues and things don't work out, then can he sign with his old college and/or a different college?

I know the top athletes will eventually want to move on to the NBA to make more money. However, teams will sign players that may be great college players, but not good enough to get on with a NBA or NBADL team. If they are making $50K-$100K per year (plus endorsements), then those players may have no incentive to move on eventually. They could make more money playing for a college than working a "regular job" or earn playing basketball overseas (factoring in cost of living). Then again that is assuming they are willing to go overseas to play basketball.
