I can't speak for you, but I don't think I have gotten away from the point

If you go back to my original response, then you will see that I was responding to a comment Will made in his post. Specifically "Not sure if 16 is enough. Can you imagine playing the same 15 teams over and over in basketball?"

I interpreted his statement/question to mean that he didn't think it made much sense for collegiate athletic programs to leave the NCAA (where a team can play a wide variety of teams) to form a new pro league that is small and initially exclusive. Hence my question about the start of the other pro leagues. I assumed that this new pro basketball league could expand (if other collegiate teams wanted to join) or contract (if current collegiate teams want to leave the league) just like what has happened in the various pro leagues over the years.

I never got the sense that Will's post even discussed the impact (if any) this HBCU basketball pro league or any new collegiate pro league would have on the NCAA. I know my original post didn't touch it since the impact on the NCAA may have no relevance to whether people would be interested in that product.
