I talked about this with someone from China once. The dogs that are eaten


are raised and bred to be eaten, kind of like we raise chickens, cows, sheep, etc. to be eaten. It's not like they're eating the family dog. I suppose culturally, they view their plate of dog as we view meatloaf or KFC. That said, I'm not going to eat dog, but that's because for me culturally, Rover is a part of the family.
