Two suggestions


One, just get an old-fashioned top loader with a mechanical timer. If/when it does break, it will probably be less than $100 to fix.

Sure does seem like everyone I know who bought a $1500 high-tech washing machine had to replace the control board (>$400) within the first three years.

Two, buy it from a local appliance store, not a big-box. When something does go wrong, it is much better to deal with someone local who has some skin in the game instead of a soulless big box.
