Power 5 schools can no longer reduce or cancel scholarships. See what happend to 1st year Bama coach for telling kids that - FIRED! 11.7 scholarships go 27 ways - the qualifiers. Teams are also allowed 8 non-scholarship players for a total roster of 35. You can divide the 27 anyway you want, but 40% each is a good number. Many non-scholarship guys qualify for aid and/or academic scholarships.
