Northeastern college football (minus PSU) just doesn't move the needle...

From Pennsylvania northward, you have Pitt, PSU, Temple, Buffalo, Syracuse, Army, Rutgers, UConn, UMass and Boston College. There are 4 large landgrant universities in that mix, but only 2 of those have large (>50K) on-campus football stadiums; and only one of those (PSU) has good football.

Army has a nice football stadium that is mostly full on Saturdays, but it's very difficult for them to compete with the P5.

I would like Pitt better as an ACC member if we added WVU, but they don't do anything but annoy me (as a Tech fan) at the present moment. Boston College has had good football off and on, but they are just another annoying northeast private school whose fans would rather sing Sweet Caroline than actually watch football games. Surprisingly, I'm OK with the Syracuse addition. Although SU is private, they carry upstate NY and have the feel of a State school from a fanbase perspective. SU football fans are just as solid as UNC, UVa and sometimes even GT fans. If SU starts winning again, the Jiffy Pop Dome will be as racous as it was in the 90s.
