Happy 4th of July from all of us at Virginia Tech Wrestling. I hope that you are enjoying some downtime with family and friends as we celebrate our Nation's Independence.

Its been pretty quiet the last couple weeks here in Blacksburg as all of our athletes have been training on their own since we last competed at the University Nationals.

Both, Coach Frayer and Coach Molinaro, have closed on their homes and are finally residing full-time in the NRV with their families! Welcome to Virginia, I think it goes without saying that we are all grateful they are HOKIES!

Thanks to everyone that has supported the SERTC. Your contributions played a large role in landing these two Olympians on our staff!

HUGE NEWS FOR THE SERTC

As I have stated several times, our goal for The Southeast Regional Training Center is to bring HIGH LEVEL Olympic hopeful athletes to the Blacksburg to live and train along-side our VT wrestlers.

I am thrilled to announce the addition of Tyler Graff to the SERTC as a resident athlete. Tyler will be representing the SERTC at 57kg (125.4lbs) in his bid to make the 2020 Olympic Team. His wife Aleksandra will be making the move to Blacksburg along with him.

Tyler was a 4 x NCAA All-American at the University of Wisconsin (2014-2nd, 2013-3rd, 2011-5th, 2010-5th).

I want to thank EVERYONE that has committed to the SERTC and our fundraising efforts. Without your help, it would not be possible to have Tyler Graff as part of our program. He will be a tremendous asset to Virginia Tech Wrestling, especially, our lower weights.

Our July training phase has begun and many of our incoming freshman are in town taking summer class. July will be a BIG MONTH for the Hokies as we begin to focus on individual development and team improvement.

I can promise you, there will be a huge emphasis on improving our mat (top & bottom) wrestling. If you watched the NCAA tournament there is no need to explain why!
