When you say turning off the WiFi, what do you mean?

Do other devices disconnect when you turn on her laptop? Does the router reboot? Does her laptop disconnect?

What router did you buy? Do you know what wifi card her laptop has or at least if it's a/b/g or bgn or b/g/n/ac?
