Motivation by the coach is huge ... probably moreso than most sports

if nothing else, helping the athlete stay on task and getting through the pain of the season with weight control and injuries.

Managing weight, to say it lightly, is a grind. It flat out SUCKS to be hungry all the time as most of these guys are. They see their friends in the dining halls and restaurants eating whenever and whatever they want. Having a coach help you cope with those feelings and maintain your discipline is key to successful weight management. This is another key to the SERTC. The coaches and wrestlers who are here are going through the same dietary regimens as our VT kids ... band of brothers, so to speak. when you have others who understand what you are going through, that is a huge motivational tool to staying on course.
