Even if they are consistent (which is rare to find an officiating crew
that is consistent week after week), I still have a problem with because it disrupts the flow of the game which makes the game painful to watch regardless if the players actually committed a foul or not. Plus, if the officiating crew is throwing a flag on over 75% of the plays, then you figure each quarter will take at least 1 hour to complete.
What attendees are going to not start booing when both teams are faced with a 1st and 40 yd before an official keeps the flag in his/her pocket for 1 play? Honestly I am fine with officials calling a tight game as long as it doesn't disrupt the flow of the game and it doesn't get to a point where it appears the officials want the spotlight on them instead of the entire game.
