The interesting part of the Coach "catch" was the catch-22 in the rules

The replay rules at the time indicated that if there is any doubt about the call on the field, the call stands.

However, the rules for a catch at the time were that if there is any doubt about whether it was a catch, then it was not a catch.

I guess the replay official decided that it was conclusive that the catch was inconclusive and thus called it incomplete?
