"In an ideal world we would love to have everybody play everybody," Swofford said. He feels that the league officials and schools haven't found a better scheduling model.

We have your back John, come see us and we got this! :-) Seriously, he has got to get to at least 16 and get 4 divisions approved.

In regards to Notre Dame, Swofford reminded that the school also signed over its grant of television rights for the next two decades. Notre Dame's future is tied to the ACC and vice versa. He said "we treat them like a full member," feels that the ACC and Notre Dame have a good relationship. Thus, it appears the chatter about Notre Dame joining the ACC is just an offseason talking point "at this time".

Lots of good nuggets for information, if you dig in the right places.

PS Is there a better known ref than Ron Cherry? Not many if any IMHO.
