Should foster rivalries that create excitement and fan interest.

These translate into ticket sales and television viewers. Focusing on making sure all of the ACC teams participate in these type of rivalries either within the league or with members of the SEC. The Big Ten tends to not allow rivalries outside the league. It forces non-conference games into September.

West Virginia obviously brings at least 3 rivalries. They should be on the list. Pittsburgh needs this type of rivalry to fill its stadium. The ACC has put them with Miami on rivalry weekend because neither Pitt nor Miami have some other rival to play that week.

I think Boston College is realizing it can benefit by having UConn. The BC media is even trying to talk up their game in Fenway and covering UConn at the AAC media event per link. UConn should be considered. I know they aren't that popular, but if the ACC wants to promote itself in New England they help.

If we bring Texas, we should consider Texas bringing some natural rivals with it.

I'm not sure we would be successful trying to create rivalries with the SEC that aren't natural. There aren't really any options in Mississippi or Alabama, and not really in Tennessee either.
