When my mother died last December, we paid a mover $1300 to take all her

worldly possessions to the dump. There were no opportunities to Craigslist, Goodwill, ReStore or donations sites given an enormous time crunch we were under.

Conversely, when our neighbor here in Charlotte decided to move into assisted living, she essentially abandoned 80% of her possessions and sold her house to a flipper. He had a crew of guys haul her stuff to the curb and the city picked it up for free. (our tax dollars at work)
