I remember the Friday night fights on TV back in the

50's/60's, sponsored by Gillette. Ali kept the sport alive, but the corruption in the sport slowly whittled down the popularity and viewership. After pay-per-view started, the sport declined significantly. I'm with you in that I do not know but few if any of the current boxing champs or any on the way up.
