Rosen overall quote is true that its really tough

to be both an athlete and a student. The time constraints are very real.

But I don't think you can broadly implicate all academic support staff. UCLA's may suck and be all about keeping kids eligible. The sheet has now been lifted to reveal the truth behind the "Carolina Way".

However, many universities go to great length to ensure the academic success of their athletes.

There is a plain reality that there is not enough time in a week for a kid to major in electrical engineering or architecture and play a varsity sport. Its also nearly impossible to be in the Corps of Cadets and play a sport (with a few rare exceptions).

Rosen is throwing the UCLA academic staff under the bus. But I'd like to believe Virginia Tech athletics does a job helping Tech student-athletes.
