Yet when the divisions were created, the thought was the league was Coastal
heavy. Back in 2005, Miami looked like they were still a power. We were considered a very good program. UVA was considered a fast rising program at the time (I think 52-14 went a ways to taking the wind out of their sails and 33-21 may have been the last gasp).
On top of that, UNC and GT were decent programs with potential. Only Duke was considered anything average or below.
Man how times change quickly.
