"Rags" is what a lot of folks call Steve Ragsdale. His Dad was my principal at Narrows for my 8th grade year, but was no longer coaching.
Rags's Dad ran the single wing, I guess into the late 60's. The Pearisburg community bought into what Rags was preaching (hard-nosed execution of the single wing) 100%. Their Little League teams run it.
Ironic that a Narrows coaching legend...no, deity, spawned the rise of their most despised rival.
There's a link to a PDF of what I think was pointed out to me in a coach's office at Giles. Though I don't know a great deal about football, my sense is it is difficult to locate the ball, and they get a bunch of blockers at the point of attack.
