If Nike is clever enough to close any loopholes on VT thinking

about breaching the current contract, then I would think Nike is clever enough to put verbiage in the contract that gives them the first right to sit down at the table whenever VT is ready to start the negotiation process for the next contract.

If VT finalizes something too soon with another company, then the remaining time with Nike could be not as pleasant. Also, VT could discover that it left money on the table again as deals are finalized before the Nike contract expires. I would think VT wouldn't want to finalize the next contract with about 6-9 months to go on the Nike contract. It should give the new company plenty of time to generate the uniforms for the Fall sports and still minimize any awkwardness while working with Nike.
