VT = 58, UofD = 9... TMac=125 ...

At first I thought VT would be tired and unmotivated, but I think the #2s will be rested and ready to fight for their spot on the team. Obviously the first string players will get their time, but I think there won't be a let down in scoring with #2 QB and WRs.

Even TMac was used relatively little... and should be fresh. I think he will have several long runs, as everyone will be looking to establish themselves with this opportunity. His speed is likely to be noticed against U of D... even when they have a solid FCS defense.

Nothing against U of D, at all... but VT is hot off battle mode with WVU, in a slower paced game. VT will use muscle memory when in football mode, and will prove to be more than physical enough to handle the Blue Hen's.

Reading up on Delaware's situation... it sounds like they had a rough coaching tenure before Rocco took over after last season. Rocco did inherit some mature players, returning nearly as many starters as BSU did in 2010. However, their mature players have only played a few opponents from a power 5 conference. Pitt and UNC... and VT may be better than either of those teams were at the time Delaware played them. Hey, it's not an FBS superiority complex here... VT learned the hard way to respect any team they take the field against, by losing to JMU on a short week after losing to BSU. There is a chance that VT may be a bit sluggish, but I think Fuente will motivate his team to take care of business efficiently.

I do think U of D could stay in the game longer than VT wants, but I'm expecting "BeamerBall" to contribute two or three TDs, and then our depth players give up some points. I'm anticipating our D will look much stronger against Delaware, than it did against WVU... so 9 may be too much. It wouldn't surprise me if VT shut out Delaware, but the Hokies have different priorities, than pouring on points at the expense of breaking in some rookies who will be needed before the end of the season.

Without BeamerBall factored in... VT 37, UofD 9.
