From my perspective that proves that the basketball program is based more on Buzz William then being a Hokie. It was always obvious from reading articles on TSL that was the culture already.
The reason the logo struck me was when made the baseball team as a walk on during the fall, I mistakenly wore Rutgers shorts to the gym for a Saturday morning workout. I was told to wear them inside out ASAP and that any logo that showed through was to be covered up with athletic tape.

I have no major issues with the t-shirts just proof of what I've read
