Does it seem like the officials have it in for us regarding targeting?
Not that I disagree entirely with the penalty, but I see it called against our players week after week and then overturned on review.
The call against Greg was atrocious since it was obvious he was going for the ball and his helmet never touched the other player. The contact was incidental. Just like the flag against Terrell in the bowl game, it was obvious that he was trying to wrap the guy up with his arms and not throwing a forearm or an elbow.
This penalty needs to be completely re-written. The players need to be protected, but there should be some strict constraints on the rule as far as when it WON'T be called.
