I agree with you that it is unlikely either would be interested


in joining the ACC unless they can get a Notre Dame-like arrangement too.

They might not be completely turned off of the Pac-12 when you factor in the conference's scheduling philosophy for weekly away conference games. Remember the conference currently arranges the schedule so a team will play both teams from the same state/region/city before returning home.

UDub/Wazzou
Oregon/Oregon St
Cal/Stanford
UCLA/USC
Ariz/Ariz State
Utah/CO

Plus, keep in mind that they would be placed in a division with the AZ school (don't observe daylight savings), Utah, Colorado, Okie Lite, and Texas Tech (if both join the Pac-16). They may not notice the 1 difference coming back. When they have to travel to the West Coast, then the conference could schedule the away games so they return on Sat or Sunday after the second away game. The other possibility is the conference could arrange it so teams end up play 4 away games in a row before returning home.
