Last year I created a bicycle club and invited my neighborhood friends
to join. 1 joined (the rest said that their kids might be interested in joining, but never got back to me). Anyways, I created the club 'cause the next street over already had a bicycle club, and they kept biking down my street riding fancy bicycles. So, I thought our street needed one too. Most people I asked said that I was too old to make a club, but I told them that street pride was important, and that I would represent really well. In any case, to make my point, I ended up paying our street's kids $5 each to be part of the club (I named "Hoos Angels" and made t-shirts for everyone), which I know goes against everything that amateur athletes represents but I didn't care. At the end though, since I was the only adult in the club, the other kids first removed me as president, and then voted me out all together. I never got my $5 back either. Personally, I think they were jealous of my bike.
