Maybe, but this investigation is going to cost them a lot
of money, including legal fees, reduced contributions and fan interest, and contractual obligations with the City/Yum Center for which the school may not have the ticket and related revenue to pay. The death penalty most likely will not be handed down by the NCAA, but internal pressures might result in something like the death penalty like Tulane did many years ago.
Also, Adidas', and possibly other sports apparel companies, may take a big hit too. Their reputations will surely be damaged by the investigation.
