how ignorant a fan is by how quick they are to boo or be very vocal with their negative comments. There are always exceptions, some people just like to complain as part of their natural personality, however, people who have played the game or been around the game for any significant length of time take a much more measured response when being negative, probably due to a better perspective on what is actually required to play and/or coach well at that level.

By and large the VT fan base is considered to be one of the more measured in terms of responding negatively to both coaches and players. I say this despite having to endure a blabbering idiot who sat behind me Saturday night and was negative from the coin toss through the entire first half. We were fortunate he did not return after intermission and the debate is still ongoing whether he and the others with him left due to the status of the game, their embarrassment at how the guy actually behaved or the several fans around him who politely told him his continued, incessant, profane negative rants would not be tolerated in the second half.
