rivalries that teams want to make sure they have every year. Pretty much any divisional configuration you wanted to come up with would kill at least 1 longstanding rivalry, or result in terribly unbalanced divisions. Probably the closest you could come is virginia schools + NC schools + either pitt or UL in one division, and everyone else in the other division (GT, Clem, Mia, FSU, BC, Syr, Pitt or UL). No one wants to see that. And that would still split up the VT/Miami rivalry, which is one of the "keepers" IMO.
