I read the link before posting the question.


I asked the question because the statement could have been made based on crude calculations or without truly factoring in the impact the 1 protected game could have on the future cross-division rotations.

Also, I am basing on how things played out with the MAC when it expanded to 13 football members with the addition of UMass. The MAC made similar statements prior to the UMass's first year. However, when it came to implementation at least 1-3 teams didn't get to play a round robin division schedule every year. It isn't mathematically possible for a division of 6 and division of 7 to play a round robin division schedule and a total of 8 (or even 9) conference games.

I guess I am wondering if the same is going on with the Big Ten or if someone took the time to schedule out 1 complete cycle to see how it would actually play out. At least I haven't found anything that shows how 1 complete rotation could look like.
