Everyone misses the real reasons cause they view it thru ideal O&M glasses
If you take the glasses off and look at dispassionately for what works best for each school, an 8 game Conf schedule + ND every 3 yrs works better for more schools than the 9 game schedule.
It's a consequence of money and/or politics (in-state rivalries), not league indifference or ineptitude toward football.
Plus everyone with O&M glasses assumes the best possible outcome and doesn't look at it realistically. Not everyone is unhappy and not everyone is going to have the VT fanbase's wants and desires foremost in their horse trading. If VT were to lose BC every year, it's geographically logical, for example, that it could pick up more games vs WF, not Clemson.
Also the media and public at large don't equate balance & parity with conference strength. The ACC's football profile has never been higher than it is now. Making it tougher for an ACC team to go undefeated is not in the best interest of the league's public/media image. [Post edited by marcbvtgm at 10/05/2017 6:13PM]
