Those kids in other countries are learning technical skills...


...they're learning footwork, ball control, getting touches, etc. They're not learning set plays or formations or trying to win. They're much more skilled players because of it. In the US, it's win, win win...even at the youth level. Every parent wants their kid to be on a winning team so they can attract more players for more money in the team/league/program. That's the focus...not on developing skilled futboleros. (though there are some small efforts to change this mentalitythough it's an uphill battle with parents).

That you don't understand the technical skills involved is more of lack of understanding of the game on your part.
