There is more complexity to the Red Sox firing Farrell


Losing in the first round of the playoffs for the second straight year was a convenient excuse to ditch him.

Ultimately he's gone because he chose the wrong side in the owner's eye for the spat between David Price and Dennis Eckersley.

It had nothing to do with won/loss record.
