The way I understand it, the angle that UNC lawyers took in defending UNC
was that it's not the NCAA's job to oversee what type of courses are offered - that oversight is given to accreditation groups. Essentially, the lawyers told the NCAA "Our academics is none of your d**n business," and they do have a point.
And while they get away scot-free with the academic fraud charges, the damage to the university's reputation is immesuarbly bad. I'm hoping that VT will never, ever go down this road. I value my degrees from VT
