To me it's all about pain management. Our 13 yr old golden retriever had

Arthritis and bone cancer. We eventually had to put her down, however she received acupuncture regularly, which I thought really calmed her down and helped with pain management until the cancer got too advanced. Completely subjective on my part, but I'd do it again with any of my dogs. Seemed to help take the top edge off her anxiety and pain.
