We agree on which caused more of an athletic advantage

in future AD activities. UNC ought to be suspended and have academic accreditation revoked. I don't believe a word of their excuses, and wish they had gotten hammered, but in NCAA's eyes they had plausible deniability - their AD technically didn't create the courses, (even though they likely requested it off the record, that type of evidence wasn't "in the record" that NCAA used) they "just" had athletes take the courses to maintain eligibility. UNC got rid of the academic culprits and even the department was completely revamped, essentially doesn't exist.

At PSU AD employees were primary culprits that covered up a serious crime. Yes, a lot of the University benefited by controlling the PR and maybe it gave little true athletic advantage, but the jurisdiction is the fact that AD employees, not another academic department, were the primary bad guys with fingers pointing at them - the AD itself being "out of control" is where the NCAA had some jurisdiction, but the nature of the original crime overshadowed that.

I'm no fan of the NCAA, they don't want to find anything major at well known institutions.
