Cubs vs. Dodgers game 3
Baseball commentators are always coming up with awe-inspiring factoids. Here's one: When Yu Darvish drew a bases-loaded walk to get an RBI, it was the first time that had happened in a playoff game since 1977. (See link for some more comments.)
But here's more. Darvish walked on four pitches. How often does that happen? And Darvish had one hit in 17 at-bats during the regular season, struck out 14 times. Oh, and drew a walk, the only one of his MLB career prior to this game.
And then, Carl Edwards Jr. struck out the next batter, Chris Taylor, on three pitches. Taylor had a home run and a triple earlier in the game.
Go figure.
