The grass isn't always greener, is it?

Not saying that to sound judgy at all - you made a career move that you thought was best. It just didn't pan out the way you hoped. I'm sure you'll land on your feet quickly. Sometimes it takes a bad experience or two to help "refine" what we value the most in a job setting. It's probably hard to find the "perfect" opportunity where compensation, benefits, responsibilities, hours, people, location etc. are all exactly what you'd want, so sometimes I think you just have to make a list of what is most important to you, and decide what minor annoyances you can live with.

As far as discussing your current situation with the potential new employer, I wouldn't necessarily volunteer that you were let go, but I would definitely be totally honest if they ask you about it. Honesty is always best, and besides, if you tell them the reasons you were unhappy there (which seem to have ultimately led to you being let go for not being 100% committed) then hopefully it will start a discussion about the work conditions in this potential new job so that you can get a feel for whether it will be a better situation. You don't want to move to another new city and wind up being just as miserable.

Good luck, and enjoy your vacation. Hopefully this will be a good way to get a fresh start.
