He was much more effective in Loeffler's offense


While I wouldn't put him near the top of all time VT backs, I wouldn't say he doesn't have a good skill set. I just don't think he's suited for Fuente's style.

Having said that, the jury is actually out on the question of whether ANY running back can really set themselves apart, and become a real weapon in this style of O.

While all of our active backs are underwhelming, I wonder how much of that is them, and how much is the system. Fuente comes right out and says he doesn't need a featured back. I find that attitude shocking quite frankly, but that's what's on the table. Its self-fulfilling. You're basically telling RB recruits that you don't need them "that much". Well, guess what you're gonna get? Probably backs that nobody needs that much.
