Our style of play is almost painful to watch. We have meaningless possession passing around the back line. We occasionally work it thru the midfield. But inevitably we blast a long ball ahead in the neighborhood of the center forward. Even if she manages to receive it, she is immediately surrounded by defenders, tries to turn anyway and drive to goal, and eventually loses the ball. The midfield is slow to join in the attack and we never have a numbers advantage. We are incapable of working the ball thru the midfield, holding it up, and building numbers. It's like watching bad high school soccer. Last night's game was awful because NC State employed the same strategy.
