When first talking to the cop, she said she "might have" ...
... been distracted by the radio. In court she tried to walk that back and said "Well, when I said that I meant EARLIER." The judge then asked her when she last saw the light as green and she replied, "Right before I went through it."
There's no way. It's a six-lane road, so in my left turn I went through the median space and then all three lanes -- she hit me in the far right lane. And it was a straightaway for a good mile before that. So if she was paying any attention at all, it would have been absolutely impossible to NOT see me. One hundred percent, she was on her phone.
I ended up going to the ER with a shirt-ton of glass in my face -- probably about 50-75 cuts and about 10 shards they had to dig out of my face; a couple are still in there. My wrist was cut up bad as well and I still have a huge scar, and while it wasn't broken there's ligament/tendon damage that I'll carry with me the rest of my life. And two weeks after the accident I ended up having surgery for a partially detached retina that was caused by the impact of the accident.
But hey, she can tell people she was found not guilty and try to convince herself it wasn't her fault!!
