I recall a Will Smith article several yrs ago regarding
a replacement for Beamer (after a bad game and some folks on the message bard calling for his head)..he said something to the effect of 'be careful what you wish for'..and..'any replacement will be a contractual thing, not a devotion (like Beamer)'. I think Will was correct, and i think Fuente is more apt to side with devotion over contract.
For example, a program that hires, say, Petrino, may get a person that can quickly get better athletes, and get some short turn gain...but there is a price for such quick success.
VT is just not the kind of place that says 'quick success'...is says 'built and sustained sucess'

ps...Fuente did come into a pretty sweet situation...more power to him
